Thinking about technology
through law and society.

I studied Law and Sociology at Koç University. Law taught me to examine technology through rights, authority and responsibility; sociology taught me to look at its effects on people, institutions and relations of power. From my second year at university, my research assistantships explored how AI and emerging technologies affect law and society. I have been researching and working on these questions for about ten years.

After qualifying as a lawyer, I began working with technology companies on technology policy, government affairs and corporate relations. Across more than seven years of professional experience, I have advised over 25 companies. Today, as an IAPP AIGP-certified AI governance professional, I work on organisational AI use, decision processes and accountability.

I deliver corporate advisory work and training through STRATRI, the consultancy I founded. At TechLetter, I examine AI and technology developments through their sources and share my own assessments. The same questions connect my research, advisory work and teaching: what is changing, who decides, and who lives with the consequences?
